We’re growing — and that’s a great problem to have!
With more than 400 kids actively playing with Manitowoc Futbol Club (MFC), our program has officially outgrown the fields on Viebahn Street. To continue creating more opportunities for players of all ages, we’ve asked the City of Manitowoc for permission to use the property at 2700 Michigan Avenue (Evergreen Cemetery West) as additional soccer space.
This partnership would give our players more room to train and compete. MFC would provide the goals, paint the pitch lines, and even take on extra mowing to ensure the space is ready for our athletes and families.
On August 6, 2025 Seehafer News published this article: Manitowoc Futbol Club Looks to Use Another City Owned Field | Seehafer News which spread awarness of our growth opportunity. As noted, city staff had previously voiced their support with our request, yet our MFC Board Members met with the Public Infrastructure Committee who approved our proposal through Council Chambers that same day. Next steps are being developed for potential 2026 options.
⚽ Why this matters:
Additional space for practices and games
Improving the experience for kids and families
Continued growth of youth soccer in Manitowoc
Displays dedicated communial support within our growing community for family-orientated programs
We’re excited about this next step and grateful for the City’s partnership in helping us grow the world’s game right here in our community.
Stay tuned for updates — and thank you for supporting Manitowoc Futbol Club!
